Description

  • Research, design, develop, and implement autonomy-related capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and modify machine learning and other algorithms to support studies and conclusions.
  • Create, expand, upgrade, and maintain algorithms in software.
  • Design, develop, validate, and manage large-scale simulations and simulation tools.
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams across multiple STR campuses to execute technical efforts.
  • Contribute to technical reports, deliverables, and proposals.
  • Prepare presentations for government customers and explain the implications of simulation findings.
  • Apply AI/ML and other algorithms to autonomy problems, particularly in simulation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Good programming skills in one or more scientific languages such as C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience or interest in machine learning, such as image recognition.
  • Experience or interest in scientific computing tools and workflows such as Linux, git, bash, and CI/CD.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out computer-based research tasks with limited supervision.
  • Preferred: active Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: experience or awareness of the defense industry.
  • Preferred: experience with reinforcement learning, physics-based simulation, or mission simulators such as AFSIM or NGTS.
  • Preferred: experience briefing both technical and non-technical audiences.
