Description

  • Own financial reporting, ledgers, month-end and year-end close, cash flow, budgeting, and ad hoc reports and models.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a three-person accounting team while balancing delegation with hands-on ownership.
  • Oversee accounts payable and payroll operations delivered by the team.
  • Monitor cash positions and upcoming outflows, and coordinate with banking partners.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain internal finance dashboards, automations, web applications, and data tools.
  • Partner with the Finance Transformation Manager to support strategic and high-level business decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for the accounting function as it scales.
  • Oversee tax-compliance activities and payment controls, including release-level payment authority.

Requirements

  • Hands-on technical accounting experience across ledgers, close, tax, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a small accounting team.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently build and ship finance tools, dashboards, or automations using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Copilot Pro; portfolio or code sample required.
  • Experience with U.S. accounting practices and U.S.-based companies.
  • Comfort managing release-level payment authority and related financial controls.
  • Experience working with global, distributed, and culturally diverse teams.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Candidates based in Latin America are preferred.
  • Availability to support U.S. Eastern Time working hours.
  • Full-time independent contractor engagement.
