Description

  • Design and implement scalable data processing components and supporting features for cybersecurity applications (e.g., threat detections, incident correlation, threat intelligence, asset management).
  • Develop and ship backend functionalities, distributed systems, APIs (REST/gRPC), and microservices to support machine-learning and data-intensive projects.
  • Drive architecture and implementation of foundational machine learning and data-intensive software components for the Open XDR platform.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve production stability and performance issues for the platform components and features.
  • Collaborate closely with machine learning and security researchers, UI/UX designers, and product management to align design and implementation with product needs and business goals.
  • Own feature development from design through deployment, including integration with cloud, containerization, and orchestration tooling.
  • Support and improve observability, monitoring, and operational practices for ML and security systems.
  • Contribute to project-area assignments and adapt to new priorities based on product and engineering needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of industry software development experience (or 2 years with an advanced degree) and 3 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience developing backend functionalities, distributed systems, APIs (REST/gRPC), and microservices for machine-learning or other data-intensive projects.
  • Experience with cloud computing, containerization, orchestration, and deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, or Go.
  • Strong written communication skills for text-based collaboration (e.g., Slack) and technical documentation.
  • Preferred: PhD in Computer Science focused on software systems.
  • Preferred: Experience building backend components for cybersecurity products (e.g., threat detection engines) and working on ML platform teams or researcher-facing tools/frameworks.
  • Preferred: Experience with observability frameworks and practices for machine learning systems; knowledge of ML and/or SecOps concepts is a plus.
