Description

  • Design and build the data platform, including ingestion, transformation, storage, warehousing or lake architecture, and data modelling.
  • Establish scalable, governed data pipelines with data quality, lineage, security and accessibility for AI and machine learning use cases.
  • Build and deploy production Generative AI features, including LLM applications, RAG and AI agents.
  • Create evaluation, testing, monitoring and improvement practices for AI systems, including reliability, safety, hallucination, latency and cost management.
  • Provide technical direction for supervised machine learning initiatives such as risk scoring, classification and decision prediction.
  • Embed AI-assisted workflows across requirements, coding, code review, testing, documentation, debugging and operations.
  • Measure and improve engineering productivity, delivery speed, test coverage and software quality through AI-enabled practices.
  • Lead, mentor and directly manage data engineers, ML engineers and data scientists while remaining active in coding, architecture and proofs of concept.
  • Partner with the CTO, Product Director, Engineering, Architecture and Security teams to deliver the data and AI roadmap.
  • Establish governance, risk management, security and traceability controls for data and AI systems in a regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience personally building modern data platforms, including ingestion pipelines, transformation, warehousing or lake architecture, and data modelling.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to write production-quality code.
  • Experience designing scalable, reliable production data pipelines and architectures.
  • Demonstrable experience building and deploying production Generative AI or LLM-powered features.
  • Practical experience with RAG, AI agents or similar LLM application architectures.
  • Experience evaluating, testing, monitoring and improving production AI systems.
  • Strong understanding of supervised machine learning, including model selection, calibration, explainability, validation and monitoring.
  • Experience using AI to measurably improve engineering team productivity, delivery speed or quality across the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven technical team leadership experience with direct reports, while remaining hands-on with code, architecture and technical reviews.
  • Experience with Azure and/or Snowflake, MLOps, CI/CD, automated model deployment or model monitoring (preferred).
  • Experience building production predictive scoring or classification models and working in regulated industries such as financial services, banking, insurance, fintech or regtech (preferred).
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct when handling sensitive data and technology.
