Description

  • Architect end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Own technical decisions across the stack, from UI and component architecture to service design, data modelling, and infrastructure configuration.
  • Translate backlog items, user stories, and strategy into detailed specifications that coding agents can implement autonomously.
  • Design and integrate AI-powered experiences, including LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Build and maintain microservices, composable architectures, backend services, and integrations across modern cloud platforms.
  • Implement enterprise-grade design systems, content models, and component libraries.
  • Ensure systems are performant, secure, maintainable, and well-instrumented across all layers.
  • Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across teams through hands-on leadership.
  • Collaborate with Technology Directors, Engineering Managers, Product, UX, project managers, and client stakeholders.
  • Support forward-deployed client engagements to uncover growth opportunities and deliver near-term goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with technical leadership at Staff or Lead level.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, with hands-on experience in React, Next.js, and Node.js or similar runtimes.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs and backend services.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modelling.
  • Deep understanding of API design, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and MACH/composable systems.
  • Experience with GCP preferred; AWS or Azure experience also valued.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless computing, Git, CI/CD, and production deployment practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, prompt engineering, LLMs, vector stores, RAG applications, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with experience in remote, distributed teams.
  • Background in consultancy or professional services is strongly preferred.
