Description

  • Lead implementation of Next.js App Router features across high-visibility web properties, including SSR, SSG, ISR, server components, and image optimization.
  • Design, extend, and maintain a reusable component library and Storybook, and serve as the team’s authority on design system standards and front-end architecture.
  • Integrate client applications with OpenAPI backends and secure authentication flows using JWT/OIDC patterns.
  • Ensure accessibility, test coverage, and strong performance standards using tools such as Lighthouse and Web Vitals.
  • Own CI/CD builds, deployments, and environment configuration for AWS Amplify.
  • Collaborate on CDN caching and image transformation pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, instrument front-end monitoring, and maintain runbooks and on-call readiness for client-side reliability.
  • Contribute to back-end tasks as needed within the Next.js/React TypeScript monorepo.
  • Mentor engineers on front-end best practices, design system conventions, and performance engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with a clear front-end focus and a portfolio of production-grade work.
  • Experience mentoring software engineers.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PHP.
  • Strong Node.js backend experience, preferably with NestJS.
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs in distributed or microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with JWT/OIDC authentication, including Auth0 or equivalent, and passport-jwt/JWKS patterns.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, multi-environment deployments, and operational MongoDB.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration on AWS ECS, including task definitions, logging, and ECR.
  • Working knowledge of core AWS services including Amplify, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, S3, EFS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, IAM, and VPC.
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-native automation with IaC frameworks such as Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub OIDC for secure AWS deployments.
  • Observability and production operations experience, including logs, metrics, alarms, distributed tracing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with security best practices, including IAM least privilege, private S3 patterns, and secrets management.
  • Testing and quality discipline across unit, integration, and e2e layers with Jest, plus strong linting and formatting standards.
  • Experience integrating headless CMS platforms with modern front-end frameworks.
  • Enthusiasm for Stand Together’s vision and principled approach, with a commitment to its culture and values.
  • Preferred: experience with Contentful CMS, Drupal, and WordPress in headless or hybrid configurations.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Turborepo, pnpm, monorepo patterns, Storybook, and design systems at scale.
  • Preferred: Zod/schema-first validation and OpenAPI generation tooling experience.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with CloudPosse modules and Terragrunt layout patterns.
  • Preferred: performance tuning experience for Node.js applications and MongoDB, including caching strategy design.
  • Preferred: experience with EFS for stateful containers and mounting/permission management.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Checkov, Terraform security scanning, and Terraform CI checks.
