Description

  • Design, build, and deploy Mendix applications using best-practice architecture and development patterns.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Mendix solutions.
  • Develop domain models, microflows, nanoflows, workflows, integrations, and UI components.
  • Build custom components and Java actions following Java best practices and company conventions.
  • Design and implement Mendix security models using least-privilege principles and security best practices.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and enterprise-grade compliance.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce quality, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Implement auditing, logging, and monitoring across the application lifecycle.
  • Build reusable productized modules, snippets, and document templates for use across projects.
  • Design and deliver Mendix mobile apps with offline synchronization, secure local data handling, and iOS/Android deployment support.
  • Integrate Mendix applications with external systems through REST, SOAP, OData, Kafka, databases, and identity providers.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and system owners on solution design and technical alignment.
  • Lead technical discussions on APIs, security, networking, and infrastructure topics.
  • Document, publish, and hand over technical deliverables such as LLDs, API documentation, and implementation guides.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate developers and lead technical workshops, sprint planning, and refinement sessions.
  • Work with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Provide accurate effort estimates for stories, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Ensure proper CI/CD, branching, deployment, testing, and rollback practices are followed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs, including integration, performance, and concurrency issues.

Requirements

  • Mendix Advanced or Expert certification, with Expert strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Mendix applications.
  • At least one complex Mendix application delivered to production.
  • Expert-level knowledge of domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, security models, Java actions, JavaScript actions, and Mendix best practices.
  • Strong experience with REST/SOAP web services, API design, documentation, and best practices.
  • Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
  • Strong Java and JavaScript proficiency for custom actions, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, and indexing.
  • Hands-on experience in on-premise and cloud environments such as Mendix Cloud, Azure, or OpenShift.
  • Solid understanding of Mendix architecture, integrations, APIs, and security concepts.
  • Solid understanding of networking, certificates, firewalls, and proxy configurations in enterprise environments.
  • Experience performing multiple Mendix major upgrades.
  • Strong expertise in Mendix Mobile, including offline sync, performance optimization, secure mobile storage/encryption, and app build/signing/distribution.
  • Ability to use AI tools such as Copilot, Grok, ChatGPT, and Maia to accelerate development, debugging, documentation, and communication.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as API documentation and low-level design documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex integration and performance issues under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including client-facing communication and documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills for workshops and requirement sessions.
  • Ability to work independently while leading technical workstreams.
  • Preferred: prior experience leading Mendix development teams.
  • Preferred: experience with Mendix tools such as QSM.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and private cloud Mendix deployments.
  • Preferred: participation in Mendix Capture the Flag events or demonstrated understanding of Mendix security vulnerabilities.
