Description

  • Lead backend architecture and development for PHP-based systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to define technical solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Design and optimize databases, including data models, SQL queries, and complex data migrations.
  • Integrate external APIs and internal microservices to ensure secure and seamless data exchange.
  • Implement security practices such as authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and improve backend efficiency through caching and other optimization techniques.
  • Oversee code quality through code reviews, best-practice enforcement, and guidance for junior developers.
  • Evaluate and adopt new PHP frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns.
  • Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD processes, including deployment pipelines and automated testing.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support production systems to maintain high availability and reliability.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional backend development experience with deep expertise in PHP.
  • Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns such as SOLID and MVC, and scalable system design.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and third-party API integrations.
  • Advanced knowledge of MySQL or other relational databases, including query optimization and schema design.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows such as branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Experience with server environments, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or similar.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and how they integrate with backend systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to mentoring and collaboration.
