Description

  • Develop and ship features for client projects and ShakaCode’s HiChee product.
  • Design, implement, and maintain software using Rust, PostgreSQL, React, or ReScript.
  • Optimize PostgreSQL queries and application performance.
  • Work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
  • Collaborate with clients and teammates through written communication and regular check-ins.
  • Translate Figma or similar design mockups into working interfaces.
  • Use profiling tools to investigate and improve performance issues.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and share engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for coding through professional, personal, or open-source projects.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Excellent written English and clear technical communication.
  • Experience with Rust, PostgreSQL optimization, or demonstrated software development excellence with a strong desire to learn.
  • Experience with React front ends using JavaScript or TypeScript (preferred).
  • Experience with ReScript, formerly ReasonML (preferred).
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (preferred).
  • Experience shipping live products and leading notable features (preferred).
  • Consulting and client-facing experience, startup experience, or familiarity with profiling tools (preferred).
