Description

  • Lead design across assigned SpryCIS squads in partnership with a Staff Designer.
  • Collaborate with product owners and engineers in a triad to shape product solutions from the start.
  • Advocate for users and help stakeholders make better product decisions.
  • Translate complex workflows and product requirements into clear, usable experiences.
  • Apply visual craft to improve readability and task completion in complex interfaces.
  • Run user research and usability testing with utility professionals and incorporate findings into design.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to communicate design direction.
  • Participate in design critiques, share learnings, and push back when solutions are not right.
  • Help build a shared design practice within a product area where design is still growing.
  • Mentor and bring along junior designers and cross-functional teammates.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of UX design experience.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your design thinking.
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, workflow-heavy, or data-dense environments is a plus.
  • Experience leading design on a product area, not only contributing within one.
  • Comfort working in a triad with product and engineering.
  • Ability to influence without formal authority and navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Experience mentoring junior designers is preferred.
  • Use of data such as usage patterns, analytics, and customer feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design and prototyping tools.
  • Solid understanding of interaction design and information architecture for complex, task-heavy interfaces.
  • Curiosity about AI and how it may change design is a bonus.
