Description

  • Work as part of a DBRE and DevOps team to support database operations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available database architectures for multi-country growth.
  • Improve database performance, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Develop automation tools and internal platforms in Go or Python to reduce manual database operations and errors.
  • Monitor database health and performance, and create alerting based on SLO burn rates.
  • Own database operations such as schema changes, data migrations, and production deployments.
  • Collaborate with development teams on database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular database security audits and apply security best practices.
  • Research and introduce new database technologies where appropriate.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience handling advanced MySQL and MongoDB issues.
  • Experience managing large-scale database systems in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, performance optimization, high availability, and database security best practices.
  • Strong automation mindset and programming skills for building reliability and operations tools.
  • Understanding of SLI, SLO, and SLA concepts and experience applying reliability engineering practices.
  • Experience with or exposure to modern database and infrastructure technologies such as AWS Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, ElasticSearch, Redshift, Kubernetes, Terraform, and ArgoCD.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-driven Database Reliability Engineer role.
  • Passion for staying current with database technology trends and building scalable data infrastructure.
