Description

  • Build and optimize cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines and supporting infrastructure on AWS.
  • Design and evolve data models for analytics, operational use cases, and AI/ML workloads.
  • Embed data governance, testing, and lineage to improve reliability and trust in data.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate ambiguous business needs into robust data solutions.
  • Evaluate and adopt suitable data mesh patterns and emerging AI tooling.
  • Use and improve AI tools as part of the data engineering workflow.
  • Contribute to Finion Capital financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring correctness and auditability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience, with a focus on data warehousing.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills for data engineering work.
  • Hands-on experience using dbt with a cloud data warehouse.
  • Knowledge of data architecture and modeling principles, including dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and incremental patterns.
  • Experience reviewing and validating AI-generated output, particularly for correctness-critical work.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and exposure to non-relational databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
  • Proven ability to debug complex data issues and implement durable fixes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, EMR, Glue, S3, and IAM; GCP or Azure experience is also welcome.
  • Experience with streaming/CDC tools, data mesh, ML/AI data pipelines, or financial, payments, or regulated reporting data is preferred.
