Description

Own major app features from development through delivery, with close collaboration with design.
Shape the future of the Android team through technical leadership and contribution.
Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
Participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering.
Review pull requests and support teammates through code reviews and collaboration.
Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for QA.
Contribute to building high-quality user experiences and product decisions for the Android app.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience.
Familiarity with Android components.
Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
Product design intuition and user empathy.
Strong drive to improve Android UI/UX.
Understanding of testing principles and how to write tests.
Self-driven approach to improving the app and codebase beyond the spec.
Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
Excellent communication skills.
User-oriented problem-solving approach.
Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects (bonus).
Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (bonus).
