Description

  • Own major features inside the Android app and deliver high-quality releases.
  • Work closely with design, product, and engineering teams on feature decisions and execution.
  • Shape the future direction of the Android team and contribute to team leadership.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through collaboration and technical feedback.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to improve Android UI/UX beyond the current standard.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests effectively.
  • Self-driven mindset with a willingness to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects is a bonus.
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is a bonus.
