Description

  • Own major in-app features from development through delivery, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on feature decisions and implementation.
  • Shape the future direction of the Android team through technical leadership and contribution.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key product features.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code reviews and technical guidance.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected challenges affecting the Android app.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Contribute to building strong user experiences and improving the app and codebase beyond the specification.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Strong drive to improve Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests.
  • Rock-solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Preferred: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Preferred: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
