Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK.
  • Reduce project scope where appropriate to accelerate customer feedback.
  • Navigate integration and user experience tradeoffs across different product teams.
  • Design and improve abstractions to optimize existing functionality, including faster loading and more intelligent parsing.
  • Improve algorithms to enhance product performance and reliability.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Contribute to foundational services and SDKs that support Speechify’s product experience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience as a senior software engineer building product-facing and infrastructure-adjacent systems.
  • Strong systems thinking with an emphasis on end-to-end design and simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, evaluate tradeoffs, and decide what can ship now versus later.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, remote startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Preferred experience with Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Java experience is acceptable, but the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to provide links to a portfolio and LinkedIn when applying.
