Description

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and deliver solutions through the cross-platform SDK.
  • Reduce project scope where possible to enable faster customer feedback.
  • Navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across different product teams.
  • Optimize existing functionality to improve loading speed and parsing quality.
  • Design more efficient abstractions and improve algorithms.
  • Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
  • Help maintain the foundational services and SDKs that support Speechify’s product experience across platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a senior-level software engineer.
  • Systems thinking with an emphasis on end-to-end design and simplicity.
  • Ability to work quickly, evaluate options, and decide what can ship now versus later.
  • Ability to stay focused and work effectively in a busy, remote, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with designers, marketers, and product managers.
  • Kotlin Multiplatform experience is preferred; Java experience is acceptable, but the role is centered on Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Prior experience with GCP is a plus.
  • Interest in working at the intersection of product and infrastructure.
