Description

  • Manage and grow multiple engineering teams and their leaders within a business unit or product area.
  • Drive delivery excellence and represent development direction at a strategic level.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leads, product managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and performance.
  • Cultivate technical excellence and a culture of continuous learning across teams.
  • Participate in and supervise discussions on key technical decisions, delivery expectations, and people allocation.
  • Drive AI tool adoption to improve team efficiency and delivery speed, including learning through AI-assisted development and automation.
  • Coach teams on software delivery best practices, estimation, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and resource allocation while maintaining technical excellence and innovation.
  • Foster trust, transparency, collaboration, constructive feedback, and high morale across teams.
  • Manage staffing, hiring, performance reviews, and compensation processes while supporting DevOps practices and modern engineering methodologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development, primarily with the Java stack.
  • 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams of 25+ individuals in a modern software development environment.
  • Mature understanding of the manager’s role with a strong product- and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development processes, frameworks, and practical trade-offs.
  • Knowledge of contemporary software engineering technologies and their real-world applications.
  • Understanding of AI tools, prompting, and workflow automation in software engineering.
  • Ability to assess AI outputs and use them to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Familiarity with DevOps culture and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, business acumen, and the ability to set expectations and provide feedback.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience leading complex, distributed software systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile or other value-stream-based framework transformations is preferred.
  • Proven success in building high-performing software development teams from the ground up is preferred.
  • Experience managing teams using metrics related to motivation, performance, and time is preferred.
