Description

  • Design, develop, and implement reliable algorithms, flight software, simulations, tools, services, and dashboards.
  • Support cradle-to-grave development efforts for new features and capabilities as a cross-disciplinary expert.
  • Lead on-orbit satellite operations through all phases of flight, including on-call rotations, satellite commanding, and data reviews.
  • Monitor constellation performance and perform on-orbit investigations to keep vehicles, payloads, and networks operating continuously.
  • Detect, triage, and investigate emerging anomalies across satellite subsystems and implement autonomous recovery responses.
  • Work with adjacent engineering teams, including mechanical, thermal, test, guidance, control, navigation, and network engineering, to deliver reliable connectivity and new capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
  • Software development experience in C, C++, Python, or other similar programming languages.
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in an engineering discipline, computer science, or physics is preferred.
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary engineering projects, such as software interacting with hardware or testing automation.
  • Software development experience in a Linux environment is preferred.
  • Ability to intuit about physical systems is preferred.
  • General exposure to spacecraft flight disciplines with practical experience developing complicated hardware-software systems is preferred.
  • Experience or strong interest in satellite telemetry and alerting systems, full-stack operations tooling, autonomous fault detection, isolation, and recovery, and command and control is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, networks, and inter-process communications such as RESTful APIs and gRPC is preferred.
  • Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and web development, both front-end and back-end, is preferred.
  • Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance, or the ability and willingness to obtain one, is preferred.
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support critical development or on-orbit operations.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. State Department authorizations.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $125,000 to $150,000 for Level 1 and $145,000 to $175,000 for Level 2.
  • Eligibility for long-term incentives in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards.
