Description

  • Design, build, and operate secure, scalable AI platforms and proxy systems used across SpaceX.
  • Own the full platform lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive adoption by supporting engineers and building shared prompts, skills, and infrastructure.
  • Identify high-value opportunities and develop solutions that turn ideas into tested software, deployed applications, and trained models.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and deliver AI platforms that integrate with real tools and workflows.
  • Onboard new models, expand compute resources, and optimize proxy efficiency for logging, control, and security.
  • Develop tools that reduce risk, including AI-assisted code review and pull request automation.
  • Focus on lean, effective, and secure applied AI that converts engineering expertise into automation and reliable data systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline, or 2+ years of professional experience building production software in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience developing production software systems in platform, backend, or full-stack roles.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms, AI gateways, or secure proxy systems in production is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers, security-focused architecture, and integrations across cloud compute and frontier model providers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, model onboarding, compute orchestration, and infrastructure for large-scale AI usage is preferred.
  • Experience creating tools, documentation, shared assets, or training that drives company-wide adoption is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of identifying and delivering high-impact solutions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in additional languages such as Go, Java, or TypeScript preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, observability, and infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred.
  • Understanding of AI risk mitigation, code generation, and developer productivity tools is preferred.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorization.
