Description

  • Manage and expand network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs).
  • Improve network performance and reliability using system performance metrics, including capacity planning and failure remediation.
  • Assist with capacity augmentation and network optimization deployments.
  • Lead network integration and troubleshooting for major and strategic Starlink customers.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and network engineers to create or improve Starlink products.
  • Support sales teams with technical pre-sales support as the Starlink technical subject matter expert.
  • Assist with updating system configuration and firmware.
  • Automate network devices and operational/deployment tools.
  • Help architect how Starlink satellite assets integrate with traditional ground networks.
  • Mentor and train junior network engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or 2+ years of professional networking experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of networking experience deploying enterprise network solutions and/or cloud and web-scale networks; internship/co-op experience is recognized.
  • Layer-1 experience, such as transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting, and activations.
  • Experience deploying networking hardware such as routers, modems, switches, and firewalls.
  • Master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Experience bringing up switches, routers, firewalls, and servers.
  • Operational experience in a Linux production environment.
  • Experience with Python and/or bash scripting.
  • Routing protocol experience and familiarity with service provider networking concepts, including Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, BRAS, DNS, DHCP, and NTP.
  • Experience with network health monitoring systems such as Observium, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
  • Experience creating documentation and procedures, running projects independently, working on wireless networks, and/or working with SDN or NFV.
  • Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or other industry certification is preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and globally as needed, primarily for POP deployments and buildout.
  • Must be available for on-call rotations.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.

  • Base salary range of $200,000 to $285,000 per year.
