Description

  • Own Starlink hardware from conceptual design through high-volume production.
  • Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
  • Design and develop production lines, including robot end effectors, process development, control system design, and automation programming.
  • Refine production systems to improve rate, yield, and reliability.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve product output, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical system problems and create maintenance protocols and service schedules.
  • Coordinate material procurement for machinery upkeep.
  • Work cross-functionally to find simple solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing, including internship or extracurricular experience.
  • Graduating with a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in 2026 or 2027.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T, mechanical engineering fundamentals, structural analysis, and failure modes of complex mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CAD and/or finite element analysis (FEA) software packages.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and basic failure analysis tools and methods such as X-ray, cross-section, and polishing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
  • Exposure to production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment such as motion systems, dispense systems, temperature controllers, laser distance sensors, injection molders, and die casters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
