Description

  • Build software tools and simulation scenarios to analyze system-of-systems performance across satellites, sensors, communications, and ground infrastructure.
  • Develop 6-DOF dynamics simulation models for GNC systems analysis and validation.
  • Develop physics-based models for RF communications and sensor system simulation.
  • Design and implement physics-based system-of-systems simulation software for complex space and ground environments.
  • Assess design feasibility and recommend tradeoffs to support architecture definition and mission planning.
  • Create and maintain a library of space and ground system models for the simulation environment.
  • Drive program-level requirements and CONOPS for large multi-vehicle missions.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to make critical trades and design decisions.
  • Communicate technical analyses and capabilities to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Iterate on mission design throughout all phases of the program as part of a small team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
  • Software development experience in C or C++.
  • Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance preferred.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with modeling and simulation preferred.
  • Experience writing scalable software in a team setting preferred.
  • Strong modern software design and development skills preferred.
  • Professional programming experience in modern C++ (C++14 or above) preferred.
  • Master's degree or PhD in physics or an engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experience developing state estimation algorithms preferred.
  • Experience in RF communication preferred.
  • Experience developing and presenting compelling analyses of complex trades preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
  • Experience in debugging, performance optimization, and test automation preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.

Benefits

  • Pay range of $125,000-$145,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level I and $145,000-$175,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level II.
  • 10% clearance differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
  • Eligibility for long-term incentives including company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards.
  • Potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
