Description

  • Develop procurement strategies with internal stakeholders that align with business requirements.
  • Advise engineering on design decisions that support a high-performing supply plan.
  • Drive make-versus-buy decisions and carry sourcing strategy through development, qualification, first article runs, and stable production.
  • Manage supplier contracts to meet delivery and performance obligations, including expediting and demand-change response.
  • Maintain accurate MRP master data and coordinate with cross-functional teams to align demand signals and supply.
  • Track and improve supplier performance using scorecards and leading indicators such as PO acknowledgment and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality teams to improve supplier quality, cost effectiveness, service levels, pricing, lead times, payment, and risk compliance.
  • Conduct supplier analysis and develop strategic sourcing plans to identify new suppliers, optimize cost, and protect continuity of supply.
  • Manage the supplier base through stratification and a documented supplier management playbook.
  • Communicate schedule status, risks, mitigation actions, and changes to leadership.
  • Execute purchasing transactions, issue purchase orders accurately, and resolve invoice and payment issues.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 6+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of experience in one of the listed functional areas, or 12+ years of equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of technical procurement experience in electronics or mechanical commodities, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience working with both international and U.S. domestic suppliers.
  • Familiarity with aircraft component vendors and related sourcing environments.
  • Knowledge of raw material, machining, fabrication, PCBA, harnessing, or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and FAA requirements and experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in EVT, NPI, and mass production programs.
  • Material management and CTB (Clear to Build) proficiency.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and purchasing/planning functions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours, some nights and weekends, and travel up to 50% of the work week, including internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain required ITAR authorizations or meet U.S. export control eligibility requirements.
