Description

  • Support destructive and non-destructive analysis of hardware across development, pre-production, qualification, and flight phases.
  • Assist engineering teams with rework and recovery efforts for non-conforming hardware.
  • Analyze piece part failures and other non-conforming material.
  • Support preparation and review of First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Provide surge support for critical analyses and qualification test efforts.
  • Work directly in the failure analysis laboratory to investigate production failures and manufacturing process quality.
  • Support investigations into nonconforming product across existing production lines and product life cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in material science, electrical engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in semiconductor, package, and/or PCBA reliability.
  • 1+ years of work experience performing failure analysis on semiconductor packages and devices.
  • Master's degree in material science or an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with non-destructive analysis techniques such as Visual Inspection, X-Ray, CT scan, SEM, CSAM, and curve tracing.
  • Experience with destructive analysis techniques such as Cross Section, Parallel Lapping and Polishing, dye and pry, and chemical decapsulation.
  • Experience with semiconductor analysis techniques such as OBIRCH, photo emission analysis, and thermal emission analysis.
  • Understanding of basic electronic theory.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems efficiently with minimal supervision, and stay organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted and work in tight spaces.
  • Must be comfortable using power tools, hand tools, and handling corrosive chemicals with proper PPE.
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise able to obtain required authorization.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $105,000 to $122,500 for Level 1 and $120,000 to $150,000 for Level 2.
  • 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, for employees with an active clearance once officially briefed into a classified program.
