Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing and repairing problems, replacing components or entire systems, and performing maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
  • Conduct performance checks and routine maintenance to ensure generators are ready for service.
  • Read and follow blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair generator systems.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and test components for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and provide 24/7 on-call support when assigned.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment, switching gear, and related hazards by using required safety practices and equipment.
  • Attend designated safety and training meetings.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites and remain away from home for extended periods when required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to drive long distances and work days, evenings, nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts as required.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
