Description

  • Own the health, delivery, growth, hiring, and performance of an engineering team distributed across time zones.
  • Partner with product management to define roadmaps balancing feature delivery, technical investment, and operational health.
  • Set quality standards for engineering practices, observability, reliability, testing, and code review.
  • Run planning, prioritization, retrospectives, and delivery processes while removing blockers.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and communication to reduce coordination overhead.
  • Contribute to organization-wide engineering standards, tooling, process improvements, and communities of practice.
  • Lead incident response and ensure operational follow-up actions are completed.
  • Provide regular feedback and create development opportunities for engineers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing teams of five or more engineers.
  • Experience managing distributed or remote-first teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong software engineering background with sufficient technical depth to guide architecture and infrastructure decisions.
  • Experience partnering with product management to define priorities and deliver outcomes.
  • Track record of hiring, onboarding, developing, and retaining engineers.
  • Experience maintaining engineering quality through observability, analytics, reporting, testing, and reliable delivery.
  • Familiarity with Go, Scala, React/TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, or gRPC preferred.
  • Experience with AWS and Kubernetes preferred.
  • Background in real-time, event-driven, or high-value transaction systems preferred.
  • Experience with engineering standards, governance, e-commerce, marketplaces, or auction platforms preferred.
