Description

  • Develop a deep understanding of Sonatype’s multi-product developer platform, personas, and core jobs to be done.
  • Co-create user flows and experience direction with product managers and engineers.
  • Map complex information architecture, developer workflows, permissions models, and multi-product interactions into intuitive experience patterns.
  • Create user and product flows in Miro that reflect technical constraints and team input.
  • Shape conceptual designs and UX architectures for new features and iterative improvements.
  • Build coded UX prototypes using Claude Code, VS Code, GitHub workflows, and front-end fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
  • Structure prototypes so AI tools can generate engineering specs, scope definitions, and implementation requirements from code diffs.
  • Conduct lightweight research such as interviews, surveys, usability tests, and UAT when needed.
  • Collaborate early and often to align on constraints, scope, design direction, and technical feasibility.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a product company, not only services or agency environments.
  • Experience collaborating deeply with engineers; hybrid UX and engineering backgrounds are a strong plus.
  • Strong UX judgment in complex technical domains.
  • Ability to simplify aggressively within real constraints.
  • Skill in lightweight research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability tests, and UAT.
  • Ability to choose the right level of research for the moment and avoid slow, academic processes.
  • Comfort building working UX prototypes, even without being a full-stack engineer.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curious, experimental mindset with comfort using AI in design workflows for structure, exploration, prototyping, and iteration.
