Description

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain SmithRx product features and services across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Focus on backend architecture for APIs, third-party integrations, and data processing.
  • Use languages and technologies such as Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, GraphQL, SQL, AWS Lambda, and Fargate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to translate functional and technical requirements into scalable software.
  • Create technical design documentation and provide scope and risk estimates for system and feature builds.
  • Apply software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform triage, assess impact, and drive short-term and long-term mitigation plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring production issues.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and feedback on implementation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to turn technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.

Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in computer science or applicable experience.
  • 12-15 years of software development experience on server-side applications.
  • Experience with API servers, third-party integrations, and data processing.
  • Expertise in a compiled language such as Go, Java, or Kotlin is required.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including schema design, SQL tuning, and database monitoring is required.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns, database design, and testing best practices.
  • Working knowledge of GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, forecast delivery milestones accurately, and communicate expectations with stakeholders.
  • Team-first, flexible, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
