Description

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend product features and internal tools.
  • Own backend data and infrastructure for shared services such as authentication, authorization, audit trails, and file processing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to define functional requirements and deliver scalable software.
  • Produce technical design documentation and provide scope and risk estimates for feature and system builds.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including design patterns, testing, automation, and modern tooling.
  • Use AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and RDS to support job processing and batch workloads.
  • Triage production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement short- and long-term mitigations.
  • Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and actionable feedback.
  • Partner with senior leadership to translate technical direction into a quarterly roadmap.
  • Evaluate and share new AI tools and technologies that improve delivery speed and software quality.

Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-8 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup or midsize tech company is a plus.
  • Strong experience with a compiled language such as Go, Java, C#, or C++, with Go as a strong plus.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and other relational databases, including schema design, SQL tuning, and database monitoring.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and testing best practices.
  • Strong understanding of GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience using GenAI tools to deliver high-quality production software is a plus.
  • Positive, team-first attitude and comfort working in ambiguity.
  • Ability to work independently, forecast milestones accurately, and manage stakeholder expectations.
