Description

  • Develop and maintain scalable Node.js backend services and infrastructure.
  • Design, build and improve integrations with external systems and APIs, including RESTful and RPC-based interfaces.
  • Implement and maintain message-driven architectures using AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ or similar AMQP technologies.
  • Own containerization and deployment workflows using Docker and continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Write and maintain behavior-based test suites using Jest or Mocha/Sinon/Chai to ensure code quality.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and data/feature integrity across backend services.
  • Enforce security best practices, quickly identify and remediate potential vulnerabilities or threats.
  • Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams and contribute to technical decisions; provide technical leadership and mentoring when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years shipping production code with Node.js and continuous deployments.
  • Familiarity with Nest.js; experience with similar Node.js frameworks will be considered.
  • Minimum 4 years production experience with message queues (AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, or similar AMQP-based technology).
  • Proficiency with Docker or similar container platforms.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful or RPC-based APIs.
  • Ability to write behavior-based test suites using Jest or Mocha/Sinon/Chai.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Production experience and practical knowledge of challenges in developing large-scale Node.js applications.
  • Robust monitoring experience for systems affecting backend infrastructure and data/feature integrity.
  • Strong security mindset and experience applying security best practices; experience with AWS is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and curiosity to solve complex problems, including working with legacy code (preferred).
