Description

  • Design, build, maintain, and operate backend services for WebRTC and Voice SDK products.
  • Own proxy, authentication and token, push notification, RTC DNS, and diagnostic logging services.
  • Improve service reliability, scalability, maintainability, and production readiness.
  • Enhance connection setup, authentication flows, routing, and real-time service behavior.
  • Build observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and operational tooling.
  • Diagnose production issues across backend services, networking layers, and client connectivity.
  • Improve deployment processes, rollout safety, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Translate recurring customer and operational issues into durable engineering improvements.
  • Collaborate with mobile, JavaScript, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.
  • Shape the architecture and technical direction of WebRTC backend systems.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience building and operating production backend systems.
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with Elixir or Erlang, or the ability and willingness to ramp up quickly in Elixir.
  • Experience building or operating real-time, low-latency, or connection-oriented systems.
  • Understanding of authentication, service communication, session lifecycle, reliability, and failure recovery.
  • Experience owning services across design, development, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and scaling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and modern production infrastructure.
  • Experience with logging, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting across software, networking, and infrastructure boundaries.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with WebRTC, VoIP, voice/video communications, or other real-time systems (preferred).
  • Experience with WebSockets, APNs, FCM, DNS, edge routing, service discovery, globally distributed systems, or SDK backend services (preferred).
