Description

  • Build and scale machine-learning driven features across multiple products.
  • Design reusable architecture that accelerates machine learning development across the company.
  • Set development and machine learning standards at SmarterDx.
  • Mentor other engineers and influence best practices across teams.
  • Manage the full model production lifecycle, including deployment, release, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Work with cross-disciplinary partners to integrate machine learning into product features.
  • Collaborate on data engineering and architecture decisions supporting ML systems.
  • Project manage a small team using a modern agile methodology.
  • Contribute to reliable systems and strong developer experience for ML development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of development experience with a focus on machine learning and engineering roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Experience managing the full model production lifecycle, including deployment, release, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Experience working with a diverse, cross-disciplinary team to integrate machine learning into product features.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and their machine learning services.
  • Experience project managing a small team using a modern agile methodology.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering and architecture principles.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience influencing a cross-disciplinary organization to adopt best practices.
  • Former startup founder or first engineering hire at a startup (nice to have).
  • Experience in health tech, particularly hospital billing systems (nice to have).
  • Experience with end-to-end machine learning lifecycle from data collection and training through deployment and monitoring (nice to have).
  • Experience deploying LLM systems into production environments (nice to have).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the machine learning community (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with the listed tech stack: Python, PyTorch, pandas/Polars, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, AWS, MLflow, SageMaker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

  • $230k-$270k base salary.
