Description

  • Build, maintain, run, and scale SmartAsset’s website and other web products.
  • Develop and migrate the next generation of content management systems across front-end and back-end services.
  • Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to complete sprint commitments and triage work.
  • Contribute to technical decisions, architecture, documentation, and process improvements.
  • Guide technical designs and ensure successful implementation of the team’s roadmap.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigations, and support reliable service delivery.
  • Work effectively within an Agile Scrum team and a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
  • Coach and mentor teammates while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building, maintaining, and scaling highly available, performant web platforms.
  • Proficiency with Java or a similar language, plus deep expertise in ReactJS and NodeJS.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Git.
  • Experience designing and implementing complex cloud solutions, preferably with AWS.
  • Ability to drive project and product success in Agile environments through strategic thinking and clear communication.
  • Experience identifying risks and creating effective mitigations in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of least-privilege principles, application structure, and object-oriented programming patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD environments and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of incident, release, problem, and change management processes.
  • Experience with headless WordPress or other content management tools is preferred.
