Description

  • Own the end-to-end payments vision and multi-year strategy across processing, billing, payouts, insurance payments, and embedded finance.
  • Manage relationships with payment service providers, processors, and other partners, including performance, renewals, contracts, and escalations.
  • Evaluate the payments and fintech landscape to guide build, buy, and partner decisions.
  • Serve as SimplePractice’s internal payments expert and represent practitioner and client needs in product leadership discussions.
  • Create a data-driven roadmap that balances reliability, risk, compliance, growth, and revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to meet PCI DSS, card network, money transmission, and healthcare billing requirements.
  • Define pricing, monetization, and take-rate strategies with Finance and Business Operations.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Customer Success, and account teams on launches, adoption, and complex customer opportunities.
  • Validate new payment offerings through prototypes, pilots, research, and customer feedback before scaling.
  • Mentor product managers and improve product practices around platform thinking, risk-aware design, and cross-functional execution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including significant ownership of payments, embedded finance, or fintech products at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of processors, card networks, acquiring and issuing, settlement, payouts, disputes, and chargebacks.
  • Experience leading vendor RFPs and managing payment partner relationships, contracts, and performance.
  • Track record of incubating and scaling products from discovery and validation through adoption and commercialization.
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative customer insights to guide roadmaps and prioritization.
  • Data-driven approach to defining success metrics, evaluating trade-offs, and demonstrating business value.
  • Strong understanding of risk, regulatory, security, and trust requirements in payments.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including influencing senior leaders.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in SaaS, vertical SaaS, or healthtech is preferred.
