Description

  • Conduct hands-on technical training and skill verification for Level I, II, and III Maintenance Technicians.
  • Evaluate technician proficiency in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, safety practices, and operating procedures.
  • Coach technicians and field leaders to support technical growth and career progression.
  • Identify skill gaps with site and regional leaders and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and field training on PV systems, inverters, medium-voltage equipment, trackers, SCADA systems, and other plant equipment.
  • Train personnel on maintenance standards, electrical testing, diagnostic methods, and safe work practices.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, qualification programs, competency evaluations, practical assessments, job aids, and knowledge checks.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Engineering teams to align training with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Support onboarding, technician qualification, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote safety compliance, including PPE, lockout/tagout, energized-work controls, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70E standards.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in solar operations and maintenance, power generation, electrical maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, troubleshooting, power distribution, protection equipment, grounding, and electrical safety.
  • Working knowledge of utility-scale PV systems, central and string inverters, combiner systems, trackers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage collection systems, switching procedures, transformers, protective devices, substations, and associated maintenance practices.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, communication networks, meteorological stations, performance monitoring tools, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform and teach electrical diagnostic testing and interpretation.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, facilitate adult learning, and deliver hands-on training to varied experience levels.
  • Previous experience training, mentoring, supervising, or developing technical personnel preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician License, technical degree, military technical training, or equivalent industry experience preferred; OSHA, NFPA 70E, NABCEP, NERC, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%, maintain a valid driver’s license, work in varied field conditions, climb ladders, navigate solar facilities, and lift training equipment.
