Description

  • Manage carrier relationships and partnerships across all cross-border inbound and outbound freight modes.
  • Oversee partnerships with customs brokers and third-party duty and tax estimation systems.
  • Establish carrier performance tracking, lead improvement initiatives, and coordinate quarterly business reviews.
  • Manage a Carrier Analyst and support day-to-day issue resolution such as missed pickups, drop-offs, and capacity needs.
  • Identify coverage, service, and flow bottlenecks and work with carriers to improve service levels and reduce disruptions.
  • Lead onboarding of new carriers and lanes, including SOP development, integration coordination, rate negotiation, and service launch.
  • Create processes, transportation SOPs, and warehouse SOPs to support cross-border operations.
  • Educate internal teams and act as the subject matter expert for cross-border compliance, entry processes, and regulations.
  • Own pickup and drop-off master schedules and maintain carrier utilization, cost control, and operating standards.
  • Partner with internal technical, sales, fulfillment network, and freight teams to improve shipment creation, tendering, reporting, and cross-border scalability.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in the ecommerce and shipping industry.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross-border shipments.
  • Broad knowledge of cross-border transportation modes and requirements, including ocean and air consolidation, small parcel, LTL, and truckload.
  • Knowledge of cross-border entry requirements is required.
  • Experience with cross-border trade requirements in Europe, including EU to GB, NO, and CH, is preferred.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes to business partners.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Project Management/Engineering.
  • Ability to time shift working hours when needed to support Europe, Asia, and Australia operations.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
  • Licensed Customs Broker is a plus.
