Description

  • Directly lead and manage a team of Patient Engagement Specialists to support prior authorization and financial assistance for patients obtaining medication.
  • Proactively manage support across assigned hospitals and clinics to help ensure medications are delivered on time.
  • Lead day-to-day operations for the Patient Engagement team and ensure service-level goals and contract requirements are met.
  • Provide front-line supervision, coaching, and performance management to team members.
  • Manage team administrative processes including ADP, PTO, and time reporting.
  • Complete audits and monitor workflows in supported systems to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration with hospital partners, on-site managers, and clinical teams.
  • Run team meetings, create agendas, document discussions, and follow up on action items.
  • Support hiring, interviewing, onboarding, access requests, and training coordination for new team members.
  • Manage on-site pharmacy relations and workflows, including claims reversal, delivery slips, coordination of care, and phone calls.

Requirements

  • Registered pharmacy technician in the state of employment and nationally certified as a CPhT.
  • Commitment to obtain or update required state certification within a mutually agreed timeframe if needed.
  • 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • 3-5+ years of specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strongly preferred leadership experience, such as Regional Team Lead or equivalent experience leading team members.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or actively working toward a degree.
  • Training in leadership or management theory and its practical application preferred.
  • Strong communication presence with the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy dispensing or EMR systems preferred; experience with Willow, Qs1, or RX30 is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for remote positions outside Shields core locations.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive health information.
