Description

  • Architect, design, and build scalable backend services and APIs in Golang.
  • Lead AI enablement efforts by identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation across internal tooling and customer experiences.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to integrate modern AI capabilities into workflows and products.
  • Drive consistency, scalability, performance, and reliability across a distributed microservices architecture.
  • Establish and evolve engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD.
  • Mentor engineers and help raise team capability through guidance, unblocking, and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to translate goals into technical roadmaps.
  • Design, develop, and deliver new features and lower-level optimizations for internal and external systems.
  • Contribute feedback and iterate on solutions that impact both employee and customer experiences.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend experience.
  • Recent production experience, including deploying significant changes to a production application in the past 30 days.
  • Strong proficiency in Golang and experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Expertise with SQL-based RDBMS such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema and query optimization at scale.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns such as transactional outbox, event-driven architecture, and queues.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring new ideas forward, influence decisions, and lead complex technical initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, especially AWS Aurora RDS for MySQL and Postgres.
  • Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, BNPL, or consumer lending, including familiarity with compliance, credit decisioning, or transaction processing systems.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of TypeScript, React, or React Native.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI/ML tooling such as OpenAI API, LangChain, Hugging Face, or custom LLM integrations.
  • Preferred: track record of shipping commercial APIs and data-driven applications in high-growth environments.
  • Preferred: proven leadership in guiding technical direction, improving system reliability, and scaling engineering organizations.
