Description

  • Develop and execute Sezzle’s long-range financial strategy and financial models to support growth and profitability goals.
  • Optimize capital allocation across organic growth, M&A opportunities, shareholder returns, and capital raising activities.
  • Lead investor relations activities, including earnings calls, investor conferences, institutional meetings, and analyst relationships.
  • Craft and communicate the company’s financial narrative, equity story, and market positioning to investors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee credit risk frameworks, loss provisioning, underwriting, fraud detection, and broader enterprise risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with public company requirements, including SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and robust internal controls.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance organization across finance, FP&A, treasury, controller, and investor relations functions.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Audit Committee on governance, strategy, and board materials.
  • Evaluate and execute strategic acquisitions, due diligence, integration, and capital markets transactions.
  • Drive automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency across financial operations.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Background that includes investment banking at a bulge bracket or leading middle-market firm.
  • Operational CFO or senior finance leadership experience at a high-growth fintech or financial services company.
  • Demonstrated success scaling revenue from $250M to $1B or beyond.
  • Minimum 5 years as a CFO or senior finance executive at a publicly traded company.
  • Full ownership of SEC reporting, investor relations, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience leading or co-leading capital raises exceeding $500M across debt and equity instruments; IPO experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience evaluating and executing M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, and integration.
  • Deep understanding of lending economics, payment processing, credit risk management, and financial services regulation.
  • Executive-level fluency in AI/ML applications for credit decisioning, fraud detection, predictive analytics, and financial forecasting.
  • Track record building finance teams from 15 to 50+ professionals and implementing scalable systems and processes.
  • MBA from a top-tier program preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or CFA certification valued.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Outstanding academic GPA, with top 5% required and top 2% preferred.
