Description

  • Own and implement Serverfarm’s commissioning strategy for L4-L5 commissioning activities.
  • Lead commissioning projects to ensure evidence of performance and compliance with internal processes and customer requirements.
  • Drive quality by enforcing testing standards for critical infrastructure systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to ensure rigorous and efficient testing practices.
  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate documentation in the commissioning tool.
  • Support DEV teams in validating new equipment and suppliers.
  • Review and improve QA and QC of commissioning documentation.
  • Identify training needs for new equipment and updated sequence of operations for operations teams.
  • Translate customer and operational requirements into technical details that balance cost, quality, timing, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Travel to data center locations to support commissioning activities and vendor factory visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or a closely aligned engineering discipline, or equivalent industry or military experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time, including 45% domestic travel and 5% international travel.
  • Experience with large global data center providers in multiple regions globally (preferred).
  • Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations across multiple jurisdictions (preferred).
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment such as generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, power feeders, chillers, plumbing, fire detection/suppression, AHUs, CRAH, and CRAC systems (preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong record of mentoring and growing teams (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
