Description

  • Lead coordination among engineering teams, consultants, contractors, owners, and clients to define scope and align technical requirements from due diligence through finalized design.
  • Drive alignment between owner and client inputs, design standards, budget targets, cash flow considerations, and early schedule milestones.
  • Own the CDE completion, including BOD generation and deviation management, and support client contract and SLA reviews against project documentation.
  • Generate the initial project schedule, track deliverables, timelines, and milestones, and maintain alignment across teams.
  • Review preconstruction and design documents, engineering analyses, bid packages, and preliminary schedules for technical compliance, constructability, and commercial viability.
  • Develop and maintain the preconstruction budget until handoff to development project management.
  • Support early-phase budgeting, cost benchmarking, value engineering, scope validation, and risk identification.
  • Partner with procurement and commercial teams on OFCI strategies, long-lead equipment tracking, planning, and preliminary cost impacts.
  • Facilitate preconstruction and design alignment meetings to document decisions and maintain forward momentum.
  • Support QA/QC by conducting site observation visits and validating engineering intent during design development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction management, design, design management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with power delivery design and/or high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substation construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a similar field.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical design discussions with engineering teams, consultants, contractors, owners, and clients.
  • Strong stakeholder alignment, communication, and consensus-building skills across technical and non-technical groups.
  • Experience managing design deliverables while controlling scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Working knowledge of preconstruction management, including design-phase budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, scope validation, and early risk identification.
  • Solid understanding of data center development workflows, consultant management, and cross-disciplinary engineering coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
