Description

  • Execute full-cycle payroll processing for all U.S. employees on a biweekly schedule, with support for global payroll as needed.
  • Review, validate, and reconcile timekeeping data before payroll runs, resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Administer payroll taxes, direct deposits, benefits deductions, and third-party remittances with accurate reporting and timely submission.
  • Prepare payroll and benefits journal entries and complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll account reconciliations.
  • Lead year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation, taxable benefit reporting, and multi-state reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with Finance, People and Culture, and external providers to meet regulatory deadlines and payroll requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and statutory payroll requirements, including registrations, rate changes, garnishments, leaves, and benefit eligibility rules.
  • Respond to payroll and benefits inquiries and prepare scheduled and ad hoc payroll, headcount, and compliance reports.
  • Document processes, recommend improvements, and support implementation and testing of payroll system and HRIS enhancements.
  • Support audits by ensuring payroll documentation, controls, and reconciliations are accurate and audit-ready.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll and benefits processing experience in California, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience entering and managing data across benefits, time entry, and payroll systems.
  • Experience with timekeeping software.
  • Experience with payroll systems, with Ceridian preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and compound formulas.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong technical skills, software proficiency, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Experience with Canadian and Australian payroll is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll system implementation is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
