Description

  • Set the technical direction, architecture, standards, and roadmap for Seer’s data platform.
  • Architect and maintain end-to-end data pipelines across BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
  • Define how data is modeled and served through dbt, LookML, Looker explores, and embedded analytics experiences.
  • Mentor data engineers and analysts through pairing, code review, workshops, and architectural guidance.
  • Champion engineering practices including TDD, modular testing, clean Git workflows, and CI/CD with multi-stage deploys.
  • Improve performance and efficiency by reducing BigQuery costs, query latency, dashboard load times, and redundant workflows.
  • Leverage AI and LLM tools to accelerate research, code review, pipeline development, and workflow design.
  • Document technical decisions, create playbooks, and build onboarding materials that support team continuity.
  • Lead architectural decisions and own the design of new pipelines, models, and platform improvements.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional client initiatives and communicate technical tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • US-based candidate able to work continental US business hours.
  • Remote-first, with the option to work from the Philadelphia HQ office.
  • Proven experience leading through technical authority and mentorship without relying on a reporting line.
  • Expert-level fluency with the GCP data stack, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Datastore, and Cloud Storage.
  • Experience architecting production data pipelines end-to-end.
  • Strong analytics and BI experience with modular dbt projects, LookML, Looker explores, Looker embeds, and Looker Studio dashboards.
  • Expert Python skills with idiomatic, performant, well-tested code.
  • Experience building modular Pytest suites, using TDD by default, and introducing contract or snapshot testing.
  • Strong Git/version control skills and experience designing CI/CD pipelines with multi-stage deploys.
  • Comfort working with AI and LLM tools beyond surface-level use, including prompt design and evaluation harnesses.
  • Strong project management discipline with familiarity using Wrike or a similar tool.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification requirements were not specified.
  • Experience in marketing analytics or marketing data stacks is strongly implied and preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, context switching, and change management effectively.

Benefits

  • Salary band of $120,000 to $130,000 per year.
