Description

  • Ship clean, readable, and maintainable backend code in Django.
  • Write tests and address technical debt to improve code quality.
  • Make scalable architectural decisions for backend systems.
  • Participate in product development from start to finish by reviewing requirements and user stories.
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback to product and engineering teams.
  • Design and build solutions that can scale to millions of users.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Help grow the engineering team by bringing and evangelizing best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Django and Django Rest Framework experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS.
  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL databases in production.
  • Experience building, supporting, and planning production systems.
  • Experience with asynchronous task management.
  • US-based and located in the Central or Eastern time zone.
  • Cannot require H1-B visa sponsorship.
  • This is not a junior role; exceptional candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Celery.
  • Nice-to-have experience with Redis.
  • Nice-to-have experience with React.js.
  • Domain interest or experience in ETL and data integration with third-party systems such as Student Information Systems, educational data, workforce development and career exploration, or predictive analytics around educational outcomes.
