Description

  • Prepare and submit grant applications to federal, state, and local agencies in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage existing Department of Energy (DOE) grants throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and funding requirements across grant activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant-related activities, including submissions, approvals, expenditures, and reports.
  • Audit grant budgets to confirm funds are allocated according to grant guidelines.
  • Produce regular communications, presentations, and status updates for different audiences.
  • Evaluate complex projects and translate them into grant proposals.
  • Work cross-functionally to support grant preparation, submission, and ongoing management.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience writing and administering federal grant applications, specifically DOE grants.
  • Strong knowledge of federal grant application regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong project and program management methodology and technique knowledge.
  • Experience building strong relationships with academic institutions on grant proposals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations and status updates.
  • Ability to tailor communication style and output to different audiences and requirements.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Prior use of project management software such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • PMP certification is desirable.
  • Experience with environmental projects is a plus.
  • Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or C2C status.
