Description

  • Support senior-level sellers to grow existing customers and win new customers, taking ownership of the technical sale.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and facilitate live proof-of-concept trials to ensure prospects understand and fully utilize the Samsara platform.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs and handle objection management and technical storytelling.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams to deliver product feedback, test alpha features, and influence product development.
  • Source and deliver product information, manage projects, and build process improvements and automation to scale the SE Team.
  • Demonstrate Samsara’s value proposition and platform capabilities on-site, remotely (webinars), and at field events such as conferences and trade shows.
  • Remain highly available to Sales and cross-functional teams and contribute to SE Team enablement and internal communications channels.
  • Manage hardware and software product evaluations and provide creative technical workarounds and advanced integrations where needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university (preferred advanced degrees in EE, CS, ME, IE, or related).
  • 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role, customer success, or customer/product support (e.g., Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer).
  • Located in and authorized to work in the United States; position open to candidates residing in the Eastern timezone.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time with proximity to an international airport preferred.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and understand business processes and change management.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations and a basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation/control systems.
  • Working knowledge of integration standards/transports (XML, REST, SOAP, EDI) and experience integrating with RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Preferred: experience with task automation/scripting and transferring data between systems using Bash, Python, JavaScript (or equivalent), experience building solutions leveraging open APIs, understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems (CAN bus, PTO), and a track record selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
