Description

  • Become an expert on Samsara products and explain how IoT, AI, and computer vision solutions apply to customers’ operations.
  • Engage with prospects to discover needs and articulate how Samsara is used to solve industry-specific challenges (logistics, safety, fleet maintenance, asset management, compliance).
  • Deliver pre-sales technical artifacts that advance deals, including discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Guide and train installers on best practices and develop deployment plans for hardware installations and sensor rollouts.
  • Write and document scripts against Samsara’s open API to solve customer integration and automation needs.
  • Act as a technical consultant to enable integration, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities within accounts.
  • Serve as a liaison between sales and product teams by translating customer technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles in customer interactions and internal collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university (technical degrees preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience working with customers in pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support roles.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders using technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, and automation/control systems.
  • Must be located in and authorized to work in the United States; role is remote for candidates in the US Eastern time zone (excludes San Francisco Bay, NYC Metro, and Washington, D.C. Metro areas).
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% and be in proximity to an airport; relocation expenses will not be provided.
  • Preferred: advanced education in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field, scripting experience (Bash, Python, JavaScript), experience building solutions with open APIs, understanding of vehicle diagnostics (CAN bus, PTO), hobbyist/electronics hands-on experience, and a track record selling complex technical solutions through strategic cycles.
