Description

  • Define and evolve the cross-platform mobile strategy across native and cross-platform options.
  • Improve build systems, CI times, developer productivity, and mobile engineering workflows.
  • Set and track performance and reliability goals such as launch time, page load, memory, and crash-free sessions.
  • Lead customer-facing mobile feature development in partnership with Product and Design.
  • Balance feature delivery speed with platform health and long-term architectural quality.
  • Manage, hire, and retain a team of approximately 13-14 mobile engineers across two pods.
  • Develop senior individual contributors and future technical leads through coaching and mentorship.
  • Drive disciplined engineering practices including code review, testing, observability, and incident response.
  • Lead architectural simplification and reduce technical fragmentation across the mobile stack.
  • Introduce AI-assisted SDLC tooling where it provides meaningful impact.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of mobile engineering experience in Android and/or iOS.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Deep experience in at least one native mobile stack, either Android or iOS.
  • Strong understanding of cross-platform tradeoffs.
  • Experience improving mobile performance, including memory usage, startup time, network behavior, and UI responsiveness.
  • Familiarity with modern mobile CI/CD systems.
  • Proven track record leading platform modernization initiatives.
  • Experience managing multi-team technical migrations.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills for RFCs and technical strategy documents.
  • High technical bar and strong ownership mindset.
  • Bias toward data-driven decisions and comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • Ability to balance long-term architecture with short-term delivery.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, or Compose Multiplatform is preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows is preferred.
  • Experience working in IoT or real-time systems is preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary of $154,700 to $260,000 USD.
