Description

  • Build and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and R&D cost analysis.
  • Manage the end-to-end budgeting process for R&D program expenses.
  • Track financial performance against forecasts and budgets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers behind actual results versus plan.
  • Partner with engineering, product, accounting, and R&D business leaders to provide financial insights and support decisions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data across databases and reporting systems.
  • Develop scalable financial processes that support the company’s long-term goals.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience building automated Excel reports.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to financial challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, or Cursor, and SQL, Databricks, or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI (preferred).
  • Experience with FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning or similar planning systems, and NetSuite (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills for explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders (preferred).

  • Annual base salary of CAD $68,000 to $88,000.
